Regaining Stride With Record Admissions

Last year independent agency The Republik launched a campaign for Fayetteville State University (FSU) with an eye towards attracting ‘the next generation of doers’.

The campaign featured two :30 videos, Out Of Home and posters to help build awareness and enrollment for FSU. The complete marketing portfolio can be seen here: therepublik.com/portfolio/fayetteville-state-university/

According to the university, the impact of the campaign has been extremely successful. FSU reports enrollment for the fall 2023 jumped significantly among several populations as the university welcomed its largest, most diverse, first-year class in nearly 20 years, and FSU scored its highest student retention rate in recent years to nearly 78% which is a staggering increase of 14% in just two years (63.3%) in 2020.

The university also hit an all-time high for military-affiliated student enrollment, surpassing 2,000 for the second consecutive year with 2,168 military-affiliated students.

FSU Chancellor Darrell Allison commented, “What we appreciated about this campaign was the way it captured the true essence of Fayetteville State University and resonated with all internal and external audiences. It was a great campaign, and it worked!”

Republik CEO Robert Shaw West adds, “Clearly, FSU leadership is reenergizing the entire campus with a sense of determination, optimism and pride. And their most recent fall enrollment results speak volumes. For all of us it is gratifying to be a part of this FSU story, knowing that the best lies ahead.”

Fayetteville State University is a public historically black university in Fayetteville, North Carolina. It is part of the University of North Carolina System and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
